Now I Know I am a Candidate, What is Next?

The success of the EVO ICL surgery largely hinges on a thorough preoperative evaluation. This process ensures the procedure’s suitability for each individual, customizing it for optimal results. There are several key steps that are important during the preoperative evaluation. The initial step involves a detailed assessment of your vision and overall eye health. More advanced diagnostic scans will be obtained that measure your eye from the cornea to the retina.  After all this information is obtained, the appropriate EVO ICL power and size is calculated, and you are that much closer to obtaining visual freedom.

What You Can Expect During EVO ICL Procedure

The EVO ICL procedure is straightforward and takes about 5-10 minutes per eye. In fact, Dr. Mueller not only offers this procedure for people in Dallas-Fort Worth, but flies around the country teaching surgeons his technique so that they can learn how he gets such amazing results for his patient.

During the procedure, you will be relaxed and not feel anything thanks to numbing eye drops and a sedative medication which will help to ease any anxiety and help you feel very comfortable. While you are nice and relaxed, Dr. Mueller will will make a microscopic opening and insert the thin, pliable EVO ICL lens into your eye. Then, the lens will be positioned between your iris and natural lens. Within minutes, your vision will become more crisp and clear! You may experience some blurred vision and light sensitivity initially, but this resolves within a day or two. Following the procedure, you’ll rest in the office for a bit before heading home for rapid recovery.

EVO ICL Offers a Quick and Comfortable Recovery

One of EVO ICL’s biggest perks is rapid recovery. On the first day, you may experience some blurred vision and light sensitivity, which should decrease hourly.

Most people report feeling well enough to drive and work the next day after the procedure. However, it’s important to wait to drive and resume other activities that require crisp vision until you are cleared by your eye doctor to do so.

You will also need to use a prescribed antibiotic/steroid  eye drop for one week to ensure optimal healing. Make sure to use any prescribed drops precisely to avoid any possible complications.

You will also need to return to your eye doctor’s office for a series of follow-up exams so they can check lens position and track vision progress. Within one to three months, your vision will be at its best, and you will be able to reduce your dependence on visual aids!
